How to wash an electric grill

The electric grill allows you to quickly and easily prepare dishes from meat, poultry, fish and vegetables, but it requires perfect cleaning so that during the next preparation the products do not stick and do not lose their original shape.

How to wash an electric grill

It is necessary to wash after each preparation to exclude sticking of the remains on a lattice. The cleaning method is selected depending on the type of electric grill:

  • Grill pan;
  • classic version with a metal grill.

Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the mains.
In the first case, washing the electric grill is absolutely easy, like any pan. To do this, you need any degreasing alkaline detergent for dishes.

Reference! For washing, you can purchase a special degreasing agent for grilling

The grilled pan, cleared of food debris, must be poured with detergent for 30-60 minutes, then thoroughly washed with a sponge.

Metal grills can be washed with:

  • vegetable oil;
  • a solution of detergent with salt and soda.

The first way is effectively used if food debris has not been removed immediately after cooking. In this case, the electric grill is washed before cooking.

The cleaning process using vegetable oil consists of several stages:

  • heat the grate and wait until the remnants of the food turn black, the field of which to scrape them off;
  • a special grill brush to quickly clean the grate;
  • grease the grate with vegetable oil with a paper towel and quickly clean it;
  • close the lid and heat the grill for several minutes before cooking.

Important! The paper should be soaked, but not oversaturated with oil, otherwise it will begin to drip, which can lead to smoke.

After processing with oil, the lattice becomes clean and shiny, and the cooked dish will not stick to it.

You can wash the wire rack in another way using detergent, soda and salt. To do this, you must:

  • mix the dishwashing detergent with a small amount of soda, quickly clean the grate with a sponge from fat;
  • Coat areas without a non-stick layer with a paste of detergent, soda, salt and a small amount of water. Leave on for 10-20 minutes, then clean with a metal sponge;
  • wipe the working surface with an aqueous solution of vinegar at the rate of 2 tablespoons per 1 glass of water.

Attention! Vinegar will help remove residual odors from cooked dishes (this is especially true for fish and seafood).

How to wash an electric grill with fixed panels

Electric grills are divided into two types:

  • with a fat receiver;
  • without grease receiver.

If the model is equipped with a grease receiver, which is located under the grill, then it is cleaned first. This requires:

  • pull it out of the grill;
  • free from oil and fat;
  • rinse well with a degreasing alkaline agent;
  • to dry.

A grill with fixed panels is washed in several stages:

  • Wipe off the remaining grease and oil under a wire towel with a paper towel if there is no grease receiver;
  • wipe the grate with a sponge using a special detergent for grilling or with the addition of soda, salt and vinegar;
  • the same composition is washed with fixed panels, which also get oil and fat;
    wipe the grill dry with a soft cloth.

How to wash the device with removable panels

A device with removable panels is distinguished by the technique of removing panels.

Important! To properly remove the panels without damaging the electric grill, you must read the instructions for the device.

For washing this type of grill, all the same rules remain as for models with fixed panels.

Removable panels are not recommended to be washed under a strong stream of running water, so as not to damage the contacts. All elements of the device must be well dried, then put the electric grill in the box so that dust does not collect on it.
